Jan Eiland, FNP joins RHC and Hico Clinic
Jan Eiland, FNP believes in keeping things simple. The new practitioner at Hamilton Healthcare System simply wants to help people. That is exactly what she is doing at the Family Practice Rural Health Clinic in Hamilton and the Hico Clinic.
Jan and her husband of 42-years, Eddie, recently moved onto acreage outside of Hico from Montgomery, Texas. Their farm is home to a small herd of goats and the beloved dog that they adopted from a rescue shelter. The couple moved to be closer to family in Stephenville. They have two sons in Stephenville, two sons living in Waxahachie and a total of eight grandchildren ranging in ages from 7-months to 18 years old.
Jan received her nurse practitioner degree in 2005 from Baylor University but has spent the last 40 years serving people through nursing.
“Nursing is a calling,” said Jan. “You have to want to help. I want to teach my patients how to help themselves; to be the best they can be.”
When she is not caring for patients, Jan enjoys cross-stitching, caring for her goats – which all have names – and gardening. She is also having fun exploring and discovering Hico and Hamilton.
“The people are friendly,” she said.
It is the people that really matter to Jan. She looks forward to building long-term relationships with her patients. Gaining her patients’ trust is important to her. She wants to be available to them and their needs and is known to pray with patients through their battles.
“My faith is why I do what I do,” said Jan. “I look at the whole patient. What they are going through matters.”
Jan is currently seeing patients in Hamilton and Hico. She sees patients at the new Hico Clinic on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. She is available to see patients in Hamilton on Fridays. To schedule an appointment with Jan, please call 254-796-4224 or 254-386-1700.
