HHS welcomes Keith Ellison, MD

Keith Ellison, MD is not a new face at Hamilton Healthcare System. For the last four years, the board certified orthopedic surgeon has made weekly visits to the Family Practice Rural Health Clinic to see patients. On Thursday, Hamilton Healthcare System welcomed Dr. Ellison full-time into its family of care givers.

Dr. Ellison will give total orthopedic care in Hamilton. He offers both surgical and non-surgical services for fractures, injuries and even arthritis treatment.

“Dr. Ellison is already a part of our team,” said CEO Grady Hooper. “We are excited to expand his services and bring his expertise full-time to our rural communities.”

An active sports enthusiast, Dr. Ellison played baseball for Baylor throughout his undergraduate years before attending medical school at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. He completed his residency at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 2013.

Dr. Ellison continues to be active in sports and is a cycling enthusiast. He enjoys hunting and fishing.

Currently, Dr. Ellison’s practice is based at the Rural Health Clinic; however, plans are to move his practice into Dr. Ping Tan’s former office upon completion of a remodel later this spring. Dr. Ellison brings with him to Hamilton his office manager Jamie Coffman and surgical technician Keelye Greenhill.

He, his wife, Angela and their 7-year old twins are looking forward to moving from Waco to Hamilton.

“I grew up in Houston and am excited to be in a small town,” said Dr. Ellison. “This is a really good community and we are looking forward to raising our family here.”
