Cathy Kolodziej, M.Ed, LPC, CSC

Licensed Professional Counselor

Cathy Kolodziej received her Masters degree in counseling from Tarleton State University in 2011. She is a member of Alpha Chi Honor Society. Her work experience includes 30+ years as a teacher and counselor in public schools and three years working with incarcerated men in the Texas Department of Corrections. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and the Clinical Director at the Special Care Clinic. She enjoys working with all ages, but her passions are for senior care, and grief and loss.

Lori Joyner, MS
Licensed Professional Counselor Intern

Athena H. Bean, M.Ed, LPC Supervisor

Lori Joyner is originally from Brownwood, Texas. She joined The Special Care Clinic in July, 2015 as an intern. She completed her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Tarleton State University in December, 2014. She has worked with children in care and traumatized youth for 8 years prior to pursuing her Master’s degree. Lori previously worked with the geriatric population in home health for 3 years.

Karen Keith Clarke, M.S. LPC Supervisor

Elizabeth Bays received her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Tarleton State University in May, 2015. She is a member of Alpha Chi Honor Society and Psi Chi International Honor Society in Psychology. During graduate school, her passion involved working with the geriatric population. She gained experience with group and individual counseling at nursing facilities in her area. She is excited to join the Special Care Clinic Team and looks forward to providing hope and healing for a healthy future.

Derrick Bullard
Psych Tech

Derrick has worked in the Hamilton Healthcare System for approximately ten years. He has been with the Special Care Clinic since 2013. He considers this to be his dream job because of the rewards he finds in making a difference in the lives of clients. He finds it very rewarding to see the smiles on faces as they go through the daily gatherings at the SCC. His goal is to continue to assist those, that require services at the Special Care Clinic, as much as possible.

Christa Gillis
Psych Tech

Christa has an associate of arts degree in Healthcare Administration. She brings hard work and determination to the team. She has experience working within the geriatric community and brings that love for older citizens with her. She provides care and a listening ear to our patients whenever she can.
