Employment Listing Cardiopulmonary Director Hours: TBD


JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for direction of patient care and operational activities in Cardiopulmonary Services, and Respiratory Therapy Departments. Also responsible for direction in Pulmonary Function Testing, Exercise Stress Testing, and 24 hour blood pressure monitor services. Assures patient education, care, and evaluation is carried out in a safe environment. Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Cardiopulmonary Services and Respiratory Therapy departments. Responsible for performance improvement and Quality Improvement activities. Reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
A. Education: Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapist Degree Program. Associate or higher degree preferred
B. Personal job-related skills: Leadership and management abilities; effective oral and written communication skills; proficient computer knowledge to include Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer.
C. Licensure, registry, or certification: Certified as a RRT
D. Experience:
a. Prior Work Experience: Three years of management experience required, five preferred. Three years of experience in Cardiac and Pulmonary disease processes and treatment required.
E. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require moderate periods of standing and walking with some bending and reaching when providing patient care. Pushing and pulling of equipment up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting or supporting patients who may suddenly become weak or helpless. Bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
