The physicians and practitioners at the Hico Clinic are among Texas’ best and brightest; committed to meeting the healthcare needs of the community.
Dr. William Shalor Craig, received his M.D. degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston – Medical School at Houston, Texas in 2005 and specializes in family medicine. He completed his residency at John Peter Smith Hospital – Tarrant County Hospital District at Fort Worth, Texas in June 2008. He is licensed in the state of Texas and is board certified. Dr. Craig practices at the Family Practice Rural Health Clinic in Hamilton and in the Hico Clinic.
Dr. Charles Johnson, a Hamilton native, joined the Family Practice Rural Health Clinic in 2011. Upon graduation from Hamilton High School, he was accepted into medical school through the Partnership for Primary Care. He graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Science in BioMedical Science and received his M.D. degree from the Texas A&M Health Science Center's College of Medicine in 2008. Dr. Johnson completed his residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth in June 2011. He specializes in family medicine, is licensed in the state of Texas and is board certified. He and his wife, Dawn, live in Hamilton with their two children. Dr. Johnson practices at the Family Practice Rural Health Clinic in Hamilton and the Hico Clinic.
Stephanie Shepherd was born and raised in Hico, Texas. She began nursing in the Hico City hospital while attending Texas Christian University in 1973. In 1992, Stephanie completed her Master of Nursing in education at Texas Women’s University with an emphasis in obstetrics and pediatrics. While teaching at Tarleton State University she completed certification as an Advanced Family Nurse Practitioner. She joined the Hico Clinic in 1996. Stephanie and her husband, B.J., have two sons: Jack and Brian both are currently attending Baylor University. They live on a ranch in the Cranfills Gap/Fairy community. Stephanie currently practices at the Hico Clinic.
Jan Eiland, FNP believes in keeping things simple. She received her nurse practitioner degree in 2005 from Baylor University but has spent the last 40 years serving people through nursing. Jan and her husband of 42-years, Eddie, recently live on acreage outside of Hico. She enjoys cross-stitching, caring for her goats – which all have names – and gardening. Jan joined the Family Practice Rural Health Clinic and Hico Clinic in 2016.
