Solutions Behavioral Health offers an extensive continuum of outpatient behavioral health services. 

Our team of providers include a psychiatrist, mental health nurse practitioners, licensed professional counselors, and licensed clinical social workers.  The expertise of our clinical team covers all ages beginning as young as 6 years of age and includes treatment modalities such as:

  • Medication management
  • Individual/couples/family counseling
  • Intensive outpatient (IOP) for older adults
  • Suicide risk assessment and risk reduction
  • PTSD treatment, play therapy, and group treatment settings

Our highly trained and caring team of professionals is dedicated to changing lives and working to provide behavioral health services tailored to meet the needs of each patient and our community. Our providers currently offer services in Hamilton and Goldthwaite.

After you are referred by your physician, feel free to call or come by our facility. You will be greeted by our caring staff and provided personalized information.

We will schedule and provide a prompt assessment to determine the most appropriate level of counseling and care.  From there, we will work with you and your primary physician, to provide a professional care plan that works for you or your loved ones.

Meet Our Staff

Penelope J. Hooks, M.D.

Dr. Hooks is a native of Houston, Texas. She has an undergraduate degree in Linguistics from the University of Texas at Austin. At the dismay of her German professor, she attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston as one of only six women admitted to a class of 200. Upon graduation she did a residency in anesthesiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and later did a residency in Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She trained in Adult, Child, and Adolescent Psychoanalysis at the Center for Psychoanalytic Studies in Houston where she is presently an Emeritus faculty. She remains available to students and trainees for educational consultation and treatment. She maintains a private practice of psychiatry and psychoanalysis, and since the need for video conference treatment has increased in the pandemic, she has expanded her area of treatment to the state of Texas at large. She comes to Hamilton as both a consultant to professionals and a clinician and Psychiatrist for complex issues.

She has two grown children, two grandchildren, a collie dog, and an interest in competitive ballroom dancing.

Elizabeth Bays, MS, LPC, NCC

CLINICAL DIRECTOR, Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor

Elizabeth completed her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Tarleton State University in May, 2015. She is a member of Alpha Chi Honor Society and Psi Chi International Honor Society in Psychology. During graduate school, her passion involved working with the geriatric population.  She gained experience with group and individual counseling at nursing facilities in her area. Elizabeth currently serves adolescents, adults, couples, families, and groups in the following areas:

Elizabeth uses an eclectic approach to therapy and uses a blend of Cognitive Behavioral, Solution Focused, Reality Based, and psycho-education. She has also been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She continues to seek ongoing updates to her skills and knowledge base. Elizabeth is invested in an approach emphasizing a more integrative, dynamic, and holistic approach to mental health. She is particularly concerned with the impact of trauma and improving intervention to support trauma recovery for better emotional, physical and relationship health.

 

Anjenette Juracek, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Anjenette Juracek is a board certified, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She is from rural Central Texas and appreciates the virtues of living in a small town. Anjie, as she’s more commonly known, obtained degrees from Tarleton State University, Central Texas College, University of Texas at Arlington and Eastern Kentucky University and has over 15 years of experience as a registered nurse. While caring for patients in a variety of settings, she observed the result of a scarcity of mental health services and the impact on quality of life, especially in rural communities. This, along with an authentic desire to care for others, formed the basis for her pursuit of advanced education to advocate for vulnerable individuals and populations. As a nurse practitioner, Anjenette is licensed by the state of Texas in psychiatry and mental health. She respects the personal experiences of patients and families and incorporates physical, emotional and sociocultural features in development of a patient treatment plan. She strives to bring empathy, clarity and perspective to promote healthy behaviors and impact patients’ lives in a positive way.

Kayelen Helton M.ED, LPC, NCC

Licensed Professional Counselor, NATIONAL CERTIFIED COUNSELOR

Kayelen Helton, Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor lives in Stephenville, Texas. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and Master’s of Education in Counseling from Tarleton State University. She works primarily with children and adolescents and focuses on behavioral issues, anxiety, depression, and stress. She uses play therapy as one of her main techniques. She currently serves adolescents, adults, couples, families, and groups in the following areas:

Kayelen uses primarily a Solution Focused approach with a broad spectrum of combined theories and techniques. She is goal oriented and client centered. Kayelen is invested in an approach emphasizing a more integrative, dynamic, and holistic approach to mental health. She is particularly interested in play therapy. Her passion is for helping others achieve better mental health and a brighter future. She has office hours in Hamilton, and Goldthwaite.

Brittany Nichols, LCSW

SOCIAL WORKER

Brittany, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, is originally from East Texas and now resides in Hamilton County. She received her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of North Texas and her Master of Social Work from Texas A&M University Commerce. Brittany has worked with a diverse set of client populations across various settings in her ten plus years as a social worker. She has experience working with individuals impacted by trauma, as well as depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, grief, and stress. Brittany believes in a holistic approach to mental health treatment, and utilizes an eclectic set of theories and interventions, including tenets of cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness and relaxation techniques, and psychoeducational interventions. She is committed to collaborating with and advocating for her clients to achieve health and happiness. Brittany primarily conducts group therapy within the intensive outpatient program and sees individuals for therapy as well.
