Job Qualifications
- Education: High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Personal job-related skills: Verbal and written communication skills.
- Licensure, registry or certification: None Required.
- Prior Work Experience: One year experience in a medical clinic environment
- Technical Training: None Required.
- Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require intermittent walking, sitting and standing. Some bending, stooping and reaching is required with the lifting of items up to a weight of 40 pounds. The ability to comprehend and follow routine written or verbal instructions. .
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receives internal and external referrals to run eligibility and benefits
- Receives referral form from medical provider to provide continuity of patient care.
- Obtains insurance information and contacts carrier for authorization if appropriate.
- Obtains benefit information and estimation to provide to the patient their responsibilities for upfront collection.
- Calls requested consultant to schedule an appointment within timeframe indicated.
- Assist in training new employees and new processes
- Assist in maintaining all scheduled surgeries and sleep studies in Supervisor pending bubble and address out as time allows
- Be available to answer questions or concerns from other staff and patients when supervisor is unavailable.
- Assist with investigating and working denials.
- Assist with all other duties as assigned by supervisor/director
- Copies all pertinent medical records and mails or faxes to consultant
- Cross trains to provide support to business office and medical records

- Maintains confidentiality while working with confidential matters on a daily basis.
