The team consists of physicians trained in anesthesiology and pain management, registered nurses and radiological technologists. The team specializes in delivering medication directly to the source of the pain. They perform cervical, thoracic and lumbar injections designed to decrease inflammation and pain.
While pain management is individualized, the most common regime is four injections per year. Most procedures take 45 minutes from start to finish with the actual injection taking about 10 minutes. Patients are awake throughout the process and can usually return to work and a normal routine the same day.
